Nadiya Klein

Nadiya Klein (1921–2004)

Nadiya Georgiivna Klein was a Ukrainian monumental artist and painter. She was born in 1921 in Russia and studied at the Moscow Institute of Decorative and Applied Arts.

Klein developed innovative technologies for the use of mosaics in monumental art. In particular, she proposed the use of gold, silver, and other coloured smalts in the decoration of reliefs and free-standing sculptures, contributing to the expansion of mosaic techniques in Soviet monumental art.

She worked in close collaboration with her husband, Stepan Kyrychenko, and later with their son, Roman Kyrychenko, on numerous monumental art projects.

Nadiya Klein died in Kyiv in 2004.
