Olexander Sadovsky

Olexander Sadovsky was born on February 17th, 1951, in the village Myronivka in the south of Vinnytsa region.

In 1978 Olexander Sadovsky graduated from the Odessa State Art School named after V. Hrecov, and in 1984, he graduated from the Kharkiv Art Industry High School. His teachers were Yevhen Bykov, Olexander Khmelnytsky, Leonid Chernov, excellent professors of monumental decorative arts.

From 1984 to 1993, Olexander Sadovsky worked as an artist at the Sumy Art Production Enterprises. During this time, he created several mural decorations in the state buildings of Sumy. Among them are murals in the factory Sumy Electron Microscopes, 1985; the Children’s Hospital, 1986; the National Agrarian University, 1989;  the Sumy State University, 1988, laboratory building. 

He also created exterior mosaic decorations on the building of Standardization and Metrology in 1990 and the scaffold of children’s park “Kazka” in the middle of the 1980s.

Since 1993, he has taught composition, drawing, and painting - first at the Sumy High School of Arts and Culture and then at the Sumy State Pedagogical University.

In 2001, Olexander Sadovsky was awarded the title of Merited Artist of Ukraine.

He also was awarded the title of People’s Artist of Ukraine in 2017.
