Sokolov Mykola

Mykola Evlampiyovych Sokolov was born on December 11, 1946 in Yaroslavl, Russia.

He studied painting at the Yaroslavl Art School, then at the Sankt Petersburg State Art and Industrial Academy named after Vera Mukhina. He is a Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1995.

As monumetalist-artist Sokolov produced mosaics and stained glass windows in the cities of Kyiv, Alushta, Ivano-Frankivsk and Novosibirsk. 

His works in monumental art are:

- stained glass window "Nature and Man" for the Novosibirsk Academy of Sciences, Novosibirsk, 1991;

- stained glass window "In the Garden", 1995 in the former store "Ukrainian Souvenir" (Lev Tolstoy / Ukrainian Heroes Square), Kyiv.

- mosaic decoration of the swimming pool in the children's clinicin in Kyiv, Kharkiv Highway, 1981.

He is an author of exterior and interior decorations in the recreation center "UKOOPspilka", 1977-78, in Alushta, Crimea:

- entrance design and logo on the main building of the recreation center;

- mosaic decoration of the swimming pool, mosaic and relief;

- mosaic panel "Legends of the Sea" (co-authored with Svyatoslav Klimchenko);
- sculptural composition "Four Seasons" in the recreation park - colored concrete, height - 4 meters;

In 1999, Mykola Sokolov worked on the reproduction of the mosaics of the central dome of the St. Michael's Golden-Domed Cathedral. 

He lives  and workes in Kyiv.
